Memorial Day Weekend

We had a pretty uneventful four day weekend in comparison to everyone else's beach trips and pool days. The closest beach is hundreds of miles away and the pools on base were closed! 

Instead we used to time to relax and work on small projects. I hung up gorgeous new lights on our patio, and Nathan fixed up an old, broken gate! Before the gate, we'd been stacking random objects (tire, cooler, etc) to prevent Kuzco from escaping the backyard. It may not look like much, but we're SO excited about this ugly gate haha! 

We did manage to do a little grilling, though! Kuzco felt that he deserved a burger too. 

"I see that you're having burgers. I also enjoy burgers."

We also took Kuzco to the base lake. He loves swimming! I wish we could take his least off of him so he could truly enjoy it, but then we'd probably spend the entire day chasing him down. 

I hope everyone was able to enjoy their long weekend with their friends and families! 

Nick and Amanda's Visit

Nathan's sister and her boyfriend drove to Arkansas to spend her birthday week with us! We had six days of fun events planned for their visit. First up was to take Nick and Amanda to The Old Mill on Wednesday. We wanted to take a few pictures for a Mother's Day card, but little did Amanda know that we had been planning her engagement! We are so grateful to have been able to share their special day with them.

Thursday's weather was gloomy and rainy, so what better way to spend it than at Altitude Trampoline Park and then getting ice cream! 

On Friday, we went to Juanita's Cantina in downtown Little Rock to a Mayday Parade concert. Their performance was incredible. I hope to see them again someday! 

For Amanda's actual birthday on Sunday, we went to Cracker Barrel for lunch and I baked another Hershey Bar cake (you can find the recipe here). We spent the rest of the evening playing Scattergories for like five hours haha! We had a great week with them and can't wait for their next visit.
